If you compare the baseline to the current progress you will observe that Install Piping & Couplings was scheduled to conclude on Monday. Figure 7Īll incomplete work on the left of the status date is moved to the right and our final updated schedule, as per the status date, appears in Figure 8. We then elect to to start after our status date, Figure 7. To do this we continue and choose update project, Figure 6. The next step is to take all incomplete and remaining task duration on the left side of the status date and move it to the right side of the status date. So 1 day of Install Piping & Couplings is still incomplete and remaining work. Note that Install Piping & Coupling task only progressed 2 days when it was scheduled to progress 3 days. In Figure 5 we have all the task progress that took place up to and including the status date. Let’s proceed and highlight Contract Award Date and select the Task tab, Schedule ribbon group, and 100% progress icon. (It is difficult to see, but the status date is the green line on June 3rd.) We first want to move the status date forward one week to June 10th, 12-am, which is the end of the reporting period. The status date in this schedule is set to June 3rd, 12-am. In Figure 1 we have our demonstration project, including a baseline. Similarly when your progress a schedule in Microsoft Project you include all progress that took place up to and including the status date. Your checking account monthly statement includes all transactions that took place up to and including the statement closing date. What is the Microsoft Project status date? The status date in Microsoft Project is similar to the closing date on your checking account monthly statement. ![]() ![]() What I was asking about was the "domed set(ter)" that makes a dome on the opposite side. I feel bad that you wrote all that TwinOaks - maybe I didn't make it clear enough that I understood how the whole things work. Don't set copper burr rivets on your stamping block.unless you're angling for a new stamping block. I was having difficulty with the domed part of the set until I picked up 'enough' hammer (24oz smooth face Estwing) and flattened the post a good bit with direct impact. After all, you're beating a short metal post into a wider and flatter piece of metal. My experience is that you need something pretty solid under the rivet, and a real hammer.NOT a mallet.to do the peening. As long as you have the washer in there, the leather is REALLY unlikely to work it loose. Once that is done, the only way to remove the washer is to move all that copper that's been peened down.which typically 'work hardens' it. That little nub is literally BEATEN (peened) until you deform and spread the metal out to cover a portion of the washer. Once you drive the washer down on the post, you clip off the excess post, leaving just a little nub. The post has a slight taper at the tip to help align the washer, but you aren't likely to push it down by hand. The post is on the opposite end of the head.much like a nail, and the washer is driven down over it. The post of the rivet (which gets clipped) IS the part that gets peened over. Otherwise, the dome side may come out crooked, no? when using the other tool(s) - for setting copper rivets (3 pieces Douglas tools) what happens to the side that you've clipped and peened when you have it flipped over to use the rivet "doming" punch on the other side? Seems like it would need to sit in an anvil with a hole in the center (to accomdate the peened stem). Hi Art, I like that little Wonder, I need to look into it. In a production shop that uses a lot of different sizes and types of fasteners, a bunch of Little Wonders set up for the things you do the most and then a couple for the odd things would work nicely. ![]() We sew most everything so we don't use rivets much and more often than not they are burr rivets for strength. ![]() In the video, you will see all the adjusting going on with the Little Wonder. I have 2 Press-N-Snap setters from my boat canvas days loaded with everything to set Ligne 24 snaps. I set Burr rivets with a set of tools from Bob Douglas call Vandy at Sheridan Leather. I have this machine and it is not for burr rivets. Are extra pieces needed to do a variety of rivet sizes (like various die or whatever) - does anyone know? Springfield's add mentions a die for line 20 snaps but what about the various rivet sizes? And if so, could those pieces still be sourced somewhere?įrom Weaver Leather. I think what I'm most interested in is the bench mounted hand press type rivet setter, of course you can get old used ones on ebay for much cheaper (usually Rex brand etc). Maybe you were meaning the "Rivet Setter" which pops up a single item (that you strike with a hammer) but I think even that needs an anvil under it. I'm not finding an individual tool (single item) used for rivets when searching their site with the fraise "rivet set". I use #9 sized rivets on the rare occasion I happen to need them. Just match the size of the set to the size of the rivet. You use the rivet set (a single tool, not a group of things) that you may purchase from Springfield Leather or other suppliers. ![]() The system should be capable of growth at incremental costs, rather than requiring a complete replacement. The system should be simple for them to understand, protect them from data-entry errors as much as possible, and allow them to easily correct their errors. Often users of transaction processing systems are casual users. The following features are considered important in evaluating transaction processing systems. Each transaction is usually short duration and the processing activity for each transaction is programmed in advance. Rather than allowing the user to run arbitrary programs as time-sharing, transaction processing allows only predefined, structured transactions. The layout of the remote remains the same as in previous versions. Samsung deserves praise for its new SolarCell remote, and the one included with the Samsung Q80B is a more recent version, model TM2280E. But if you’ve not experienced the high-end Neo-QLED lineup, you will be more than impressed with the bezels and display on the Q80B. There is still a differentiator in Samsung flagships as those bezels are almost nonexistent. Even Samsung’s more budget-friendly TVs are getting the thin bezel treatment. Slim and thin bezels are no longer the domain of more expensive TVs. The front of the Samsung Q80B is clean and has slim bezels. Also, because it is a center-mounted stand, it allows you to use smaller TV stands that may not fit stands placed at the ends of the TV. It’s a heavy monster, but I love it because it offers much support. The stand is metal, sits in the middle of the TV, and is wide and stable. A significant difference between this and cheaper models is that all of the inputs are recessed the Q60A had a few ports flush which could potentially interfere with wall mounting this is not the case with the Samsung Q80B. The inputs on the back are recessed, making it easier to wall mount the TV. The back of the Samsung Q80B is made of plastic and looks relatively plain but well made with quality materials. TVs like the Q60A come with basic leg stands, while this stand is solid metal, more prominent, and gives me more confidence in its ability to hold the TV. The Samsung Q80B is heavier than some of the more budget options due to the inclusion of a better and more robust stand. The TV is wall-mountable via the VESA option, not included. The shipping weight in the box is around 81 lbs, and the TV itself weighs in at 53 lbs, 62 lbs with the stand. The TV comes well packed and protected, and our unit was in perfect condition. Their flagship Neo-QLEDs on the high end of the price scale have influential design cues, but TVs in the mid-range to the high end of the budget range all have very similar aesthetics. In terms of aesthetics, these days, I do not see many significant differences between Samsung’s price ranges. ![]() Model Number: QN65Q80BAFXZA What’s In The Box.Samsung remote: SolarCell Remote TM2280E.Product Size (W x H x D) With Stand in inches: 56.9″ x 35.7″ x 11.4″.Product Size (W x H x D) Without Stand in inches: 56.9″ x x 32.7″ x 2.2″.Electronic Program Guide (Channel Guide): Yes.Dimming Technology: Micro Dimming (Supreme UHD Dimming).HDR (High-Dynamic Range): Certified(HDR10+ Adaptive & HDR10+ GAMING).Color: 100% Color Volume with Quantum Dot.HOW TO: Change system date in OS X from Terminal It is worth buying over something like the Q60A if you can pay the extra dollars. We would consider this model to be more in the mid-tier range for Samsung, and we have reviewed the more budget-friendly Q60A, which is excellent for the price, but this Q80B is better and also earns a Top Pick from us. The US$1,499 2022 65″ 4K Samsung Q80B QLED TV holds all of Samsung’s excellence at a smaller, more attainable price. Samsung’s midrange and budget options are still excellent for their class. But if you’re still looking for excellence but don’t want to pay the price. ![]() Their Neo-QLED technology combined with 4K and 8K resolutions is a marvel to behold. I think Samsung’s flagship TVs are excellent. The 2022 65″ 4K Samsung Q80B QLED TV sits in the midrange area, and while not cheap, it’s also very accessible in terms of pricing. So I’ve asked them to send me other models that are a little more affordable than the big boys. I’ve done my fair share of Samsung TV reviews, and generally, the company sends out their flagship TVs which can cost a pretty penny. ![]() Users can change the theme, keyboard shortcuts, preferences, and install extensions that add additional functionality. I rather think any new agreement will limit demo launches to 1 (if the company chosen has a concept launched from an existing rocket such as Atlas).Visual Studio Code is a free source-code editor made by Microsoft for Windows, Linux and macOS. There is no way SpaceHab for instance could fly 3 demo missions on Atlas 5 to prove its concept - and actually I also think it is not necessary. In any event, a new COTS space act agreement for the 170 million cannot be in the same outline that SpaceX agreement is. I hope they will use a conservative choice, like SpaceHab - risk taking was fine back before one choice failed and the other made adjustments to their time schedule.Ĥ. I don't know much about any of the other contenders but I would love to hear what people think NASA is going to be looking for and who can best provide it.ġ. Do they really just want a cargo solution, do they simply want to foster commercial growth, or as some have cynically suggested do they want COTS to fail? Personally I doubt the latter, and I would like to think that they really do want to develop a possible cargo solution for the ISS. I guess in the end, I am curious to see what people think NASA really hopes to get out of this. I'm curious as to whether more money will speed the process, considering Elon Musk seems to have the funding, and it simply a matter of development and testing which money won't necessarily help speed. Some seem to think that NASA will send the remaining funds to them to speed along the process. ![]() The funding of 175 Million also seems to fit well with Spacehab, given that it would seem to be possible to complete ARCTUS (although no firm figures are available as to what it would cost) with the NASA funding alone.īut again SpaceX seems to be on the path to producing some fantastic results. With the time consideration it would seem that Spacehab's ARCTUS can be a contender given that there would be less time needed for development, although one cannot underestimate the difficulty of integrating all the existing space rated parts into one cohesive and functioning component. However, will NASA select a company that needs hundreds of millions of dollars in private funding again given what happened with RPK the first time around? Also, does the one year lost disadvantage Spacedev, given that they will need to produce results in just 3 years time? How will that play into NASA's decision? It seems to be logical to assume that given Spacedev's near-selection the first time around, that they must be a serious and leading contender. ![]() With the RPK contract terminated, anyone have any thoughts as to where the funds will end up?
